It has been over ten years since Doreen Warfield started her own fitness journey. Back then, she realized she needed to change, at 245 pounds, injured, and deconditioned, she was at a very low point in her life. One day she just started, and then she learned, over time, consistent small steps do, in fact, lead to life-changing results.
Her journey started at a local gym where she tried multiple classes. The one class that resonated with her was Zumba and she just couldn’t get enough. She started with one class, that lead to dancing in many classes each week, and eventually, she became an instructor. And mimicking her personal journey, she first started teaching a Zumba class, then a few more, and still even more. At one point teaching 17 different classes per week at multiple gyms with regular group attendance of over 60 people each class at one location.
Taking her fitness journey, love of sharing health, and dynamic personality to the next level, she added certified personal trainer to her skill set. She loves helping clients, in groups and individually, find and explore their personal fitness journey. She also regularly encourages clients to take fitness outside of the gym and enjoy the fun of being fit. She both participates and organizes local “out of the gym” events. These include training teams for Tough Mudder and the Marathon 26.2 Hike. She also organizes groups to go rock climbing, pole dancing, salsa dancing, and running 5k events.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Doreen continually enjoys pushing her limits and encourages clients to do the same. She embodies the quote, “When is the last time you did something for the first time?”
