General Information

Grades K-8 (Ages 5-12) - groups will be split by grades into groups of 12-15 campers.

Groups will rotate through different stations each day. Campers will skate, swim & play in the gym every week. The other activities will include crafts, games, team challenges, music & movement activities. Campers will have fun exploring science, sport skills, art and plan on a special event every Friday along with a Pizza party!

Secret Spy School

June 5-9

Somewhere deep inside the MetroRecPlex an elite group of recruits is preparing to take on top secret missions. Each day at Secret Spy School is filled with top secret briefings and activities that will put spy skills and street smarts to the test.

Develop a disguise for cover, make and break codes, discover escape and evasion techniques, create and use spy gadgets, uncover the science behind spying—all of this and more awaits young recruits! 

Backyard Bash

June 12-16

Enjoy the start of summer as we partake in summertime classic games like tug-of-war, kickball, foursquare, hopscotch, lawn games, nature crafts, picnics, recycling projects, s’mores, and a “drive in” movie to end the week.

Mad Science S.T.E.A.M.

June 19-23

Mad Science S.T.E.A.M. camps offer a daily combination of discovery and exploration, outdoor games and physical activities, and hands-on applications of the scientific principles presented.
We use simple, real world science techniques that allow even the youngest of campers to enjoy our learning environment.
Campers create, build and assemble a variety of projects while exploring how science affects the world around us.
Science Campers will use the scientific method as they explore classic experiments with a
messy twist! campers will participate in Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) activities that will challenge every age group.

Sports Camp

June 26-30

Calling players of all kinds! Campers in this camp will build teamwork skills together through an array of sports such as soccer, basketball, and water sports. The ice rink may not be open, so campers will spend extra time in the pool and exploring different sports!

Survivor Games

July 10-14

Get ready to get messy, do obstacle courses, and be challenged! Inspired by the TV show Double Dare, Survivor & Fear Factor each day is packed with fast-paced fun and trivia, and includes wacky, wet, gooey and slimy challenges that keep campers active, competitive, laughing with friends, and getting soaked to the core! The Ice Rink will be getting reconstructed, so campers will get extra swimming and inflatable fun!

Art Camp

July 17-21

Explore the wonders of art in a playful, stimulating environment offering visual art projects, music, dance, games, and storytelling.  Campers will exercise their imagination each day through interactive activities. Discover clay, collage, drawing, painting, and more!  Calling all crafters, makers, artists and designers! Campers complete simple projects and get
creative in this “do-it-yourself” camp. Campers will bring an article of clothing to either tie dye or paint a 1 of a kind design!

Into the Wild

July 24-28

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh my! Animal lovers will enjoy this packed week of wild fun. Other wild surprises are in store this week too. Tie Dye Iguana will be the special guest for the Friday Fun Event!

Aloha Summer

Join us as we have to say goodbye to summer with some tropical
fun. Leis, grass shirts, Hawaiian skirts, and limbo rock.

Where is the Plex Summer Camp?

Plex Summer Camp is at the McKendree MetroRecPlex located at 205 Rec Plex Dr. In O’Fallon, IL. Campers will spend the majority of the day inside the facility.

What does Summer Camp consist of?

Campers will have fun exploring science, sport skills, crafts and plan on a special event every Friday along with a Pizza party!

What should my child bring to Summer Camp?

Campers should bring a water bottle, sunscreen and lunch (except for Fridays). Please do not send your child to camp with personal items from home such as blankets, stuffed animals, iPods, Tablets, or any other type of gaming device. We will let you know the dates campers need to bring a change of clothes, swimming suits, beach towels, or any other items that are usually not brought to camp. Typically Monday will be ice skating & then swim a day in the middle of the week.

Do I need to pack a lunch for my child?

Campers will be responsible to bring a sack lunch every day to camp. No nuts please! Families will need to provide their child with 2 snacks for each day. Campers will get a morning & afternoon snack during the regular camp day.
