Kelly Williams has been involved with physical fitness since she was 7 years old. She did gymnastics for 6 years and cheerleading for 10. She also received her Bachelors in Science in Exercise and Wellness from SIUE. Some of her specialties include the following: stretching, muscle imbalances, pain relief, muscle building, post physical therapy, weight training and weight loss. Her favorite types of training methods include functional movements with resistance, machines and cable systems for isolations and muscle imbalances and high intensity interval cardio. She is able to help individuals of every age and every ability, young or old, beginner or advanced, with the ability to improve their lives through education, nutrition and proper muscle activation.
Hi! I’m Ashley- a mom to three girls and have a passion for helping others with their health and fitness goals. I began my health and fitness journey after my second baby and remained active through my third pregnancy and postpartum as well. I fell in love with being healthy and active and decided to pursue a career in helping others on their own journey to do the same.
Laurie Boemecke is a Certified Personal Trainer who is also certified in Group Fitness and WaterFit. She has worked as a Women’s Health Nurse for the past 10 years. She maintains her CPR/AED certification. She currently is pursuing her career in Health and Wellness where she has developed a passion for helping others find their balance with fitness and over all well being.
Kari Butler has been involved in the fitness industry for 22 years. Teaching fitness classes and personal training is her passion. She currently teaches spinning, HIIT, Strength and boot camp classes. She is a Boston qualifying marathon runner, triathlete and cyclist. She enjoys educating her clients about fitness and making better nutrition choices. She is inspired everyday by their determination, strength and dedication to be fit and healthy. She holds certifications for group fitness, pilates, cycling and personal training.
Christy Belsom is a triathlete, mother, wife, and grandmother. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Business Administration and currently holds an AFAA Personal Trainer Certification and is an AFAA Group Exercise Instructor. Her expertise is in inclusive fitness and exercise modifications. After she was in a wheelchair for a couple of months after a motorcycle accident, she quickly grew a passion for keeping the community mobile. She has been training for 15 years now.
Laura Miller is certified to teach Pound Fitness, multiple Les Mills formats, has an AFAA group fitness certification and maintains her CPR/AED certification.
In her day-to-day life, Laura works as an HR professional, holds a master’s degree in HR Management, and both SHRM-CP and PHR professional HR certifications.
She is currently a student at Mckendree University majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in Sports Psychology. She’s an aspiring physical therapist. She has been a lifeguard for three years, and a swim instructor for two years. This is her second year teaching aqua aerobics.
She is a 200-hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance with over 2,400 hours of teaching Yoga in private and group classes to children and adults. She is also a Star 3 Spinning Instructor through Mad Dogg Athletics as well as a certified Stages Indoor Cycling instructor. She has been teaching Spinning/Indoor Cycling for over 10 years.
Blake Brown holds a Master of Science in the Education of Exercise Science. He has also been certified through the American College of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer since 2011. He also holds group fitness certifications in TRX and Keiser Spin.
He’s worked with individuals on both ends of the weight gain/weight loss spectrum from the small and frail working to build muscle and put on weight to the obese and overweight who need help exercising safely and efficiently as to not hurt their joints in the process of losing weight and getting back down to a normal and healthy weight. Regardless of who they are or what there current situation may be, he views all new people he meets and will coach/train similarly: if you are willing to listen to his advice and put in the time and effort it will take to get to where you want to be, he can and will help you get there.
The McKendree MetroRecPlex is a, full-service, state-of-the-art sports complex. The complex offers two NHL-sized ice rinks, an aquatic center fit with a 10 lane championship swimming pool, a contemporary fitness area and many other amenities. Memberships and daily passes can be purchased for use of the facility and all its features.
The complex serves as home to the McKendree University hockey and aquatic teams and the Southern Illinois IceHawks. The McKendree Bearcats utilize the facility for all home games as well as their primary practice facility. The Southern Illinois IceHawks, a local youth hockey association, also utilizes this facility as their home ice.
Janelle did a fantastic job designing and selecting real equipment in the weight room! Finally a top shelf fitness faculty in the area.
Amazing place with amazing opportunities it is definitely your money’s worth and more. I love that I can drop off my kids in a child care that I can see is excellent and go do what I need or want to do else where in the building.
