PLEX Kids Summer Camp offers a unique experience with interest-based projects, academic activities, ice skating, swimming, outdoor play, and themed weekly activities.

Traditional Summer Camp
PLEX Kids Summer Camp offers families a unique summer camp experience that combines a balance of activities, choices for projects based on campers’ interests, academic focused activities and entertainment venues unique to the McKendree Metro Rec Plex. Ice Skating, swimming and outdoor play time will be offered every week along with themed activity blocks.
PLEX Kids Summer Camp is open to children ages 5 – 12 who have completed Kindergarten.

PLEX Hockey Summer Camp
The Metro Rec Plex Youth Hockey Summer Camp helps players ages 6U–14U improve their skills while enjoying a full week of hockey training. This summer hockey camp focuses on skating, shooting, passing, and overall game development through structured drills, scrimmages, and daily off-ice workouts. Designed for both developing and experienced players, this hockey skills camp builds confidence, hockey IQ, and on-ice performance in a fun and supportive environment. Campers finish the week with an exciting NHL-style Skills Competition.

PLEX Swim Summer Camp
The Metro Rec Plex PLEX Swim Summer Camp helps kids ages 5–12 build swimming skills while staying active and having fun in the pool. This full-day summer camp focuses on water safety, floating, basic strokes, and overall swim development through guided instruction and engaging pool activities. Campers enjoy two hours of pool time each day along with games, Splash-Ball, diving challenges, and group activities. Designed for both beginner and developing swimmers, this swim camp builds confidence, strength, and comfort in the water in a fun and supportive environment.
